Husband and wife team Colin and Emma have combined industry experience of over 30 years. They have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

What we do
Egerton’s Timber is open to both trade and the general public. We specialise in timbers for the agricultural, fencing and landscaping trades as well as enthusiastic DIY’ers. We predominantly stock slower growing redwood. Why I hear you ask? We want to improve the quality of timber currently offered on the mainstream market today. Most merchants offer fast grown spruce as standard but it is difficult to treat and is often treated to a lower user class for ‘cost effectiveness’. Not all merchants are providing the information customers need to make an informed choice.
Redwood takes much longer to mature to harvesting size but it has other beneficial properties including that it absorbs treatment better, is less likely to distort as it has a straighter and tighter grain and it also takes fixings well. Where required & appropriate we treat to the higher user class of UC4. Scandinavian redwood timber is the go to for joinery related projects. We stock 5ths redwood as standard and unsorted is available to order.
But we do more than just the basics. We excel in supplying bespoke timbers cut to size as well as bespoke manufacture of gates, panels & trellis and structures of all shapes and sizes. Hardwoods, species specific softwoods, sheet material, graded timbers, standard spruce, treated or untreated, cladding, decking the list goes on. We are always telling people if it has wood in it just ask!
People have bought in ‘fag packet sketches’, rotten gates, photos and even Pinterest boards. We will take the time to help you get what you need so if you are unsure or just don’t know come and see us.

We truly believe that good communication is the key to happy and returning customers. We are open an honest about our timbers treatment class and the majority of our products are treated to UC4 and this is clearly marked in our descriptions. Not all pressure treated timber is created equal!
