Square Sawn Softwood Timber
We stock a wide range of pressure treated posts, rails, edging boards, sleepers and featheredge.
We offer a range of slower growing redwood timber and some standard whitewood timber. Redwood absorbs treatment better than whitewood and is less likely to distort. Redwood also takes fixings well. It has a longer life expectancy than whitewood. Visit our planed timber page for our range for smooth timbers. All our timbers are treated to UC4 (In Ground/ground contact) unless marked UC3 (Above ground use) Not all pressure treated timber is created equal, so when you are shopping around be sure to ask for UC4
We can also have many bespoke items milled to order including hardwoods and species specific softwoods.
If you can’t see what you are looking for just give us a call. We offer more than just our stock options.

Hardwood & Other Softwoods
We can offer a range of hardwood and specialist softwood timbers milled to order. These include but are not limited to Western Red Cedar, Iroko, Oak, Sapele, Balau, Steamed Beech & Indigbo, thermowood, Accoya, Ash, Douglas Fir, Southern Yellow Pine, Siberian Larch, Unsorted & 5ths Redwood. So whether you have seen it on Grand Designs, or found something on Pinterest don’t be afraid to ask us.
Western Red Cedar can be used for a range of DIY projects ranging from beginner to more complex including glasshouses, shed construction, shingles, exterior boarding and cladding, beehives, poles, posts, decking, joinery, gates and even gazebos. The wood is popular amongst architects due to the way it matures to a beautiful silver-grey colour.
Western Red Cedar
Iroko
Ideal for doors, flooring, garden furniture, stairs, boat building, cabinet making, veneer, worktop, interior and exterior joinery, cladding. Iroko is an incredibly versatile wood, capable of being used for a range of applications.
Yellow Balau Decking
Yellow Balau has anti slip properties which is why it was originally used for marine decks. It also has its own natural resistance to fungal decay and insect attack. Tropical haardwood.
Oak
Including European Green Oak, Planed, Kiln Dried, Waney Edge & Joinery Grade, North American White Oak. Trusses and beams available.
Northern Ash
Northern Ash, also known as 'Tough Ash' is pale cream to greyish brown in colour, generally straight grained, with a coarse but even texture. It is appropriate for applications where strength is a requirement. Available in other grades, e.g. Common & Selects.
Dougas Fir
Douglas Fir has a dense structure and is known for its strength and rich visual quality. Often used for fine craftmanship and finishing.

Southern Yellow Pine
Its natural beauty gives this popular softwood architectural appeal. It also has superior strength and and stiffness over other softwoods giving it great loading bearing capacity. Its unique structure makes its ideal for pressure treatment that penetrates deep in to the timber.
Siberian Larch
Siberian larch is ideal for using in a exposed setting. Its naturally high density makes it resistant to decay as it is hard for water and fungi to penetrate the wood. For these reasons it is often used as a cladding material. Although it takes paints and varnishes well natural weathering helps the timber to develop a very natural and beautiful silver tone.
Chestnut rolls, cleft chestnut post and rails available to order.
